Topless at Whole Foods

Project Glass is a glimpse of not-so-distant future. And so is this video clip shot with Blue Mars Mobile. We will soon view the world through an electronic window that seamlessly blends the physical and the virtual, the atomic and the digital. That means we can each be seeing our own private version of our shared physical space. When I look at you, I’ll be able to replace your actual form with the avatar of my choosing. Clothed or naked. Male or female. Human or alien. It’s just a matter of time. Assuming civilization doesn’t collapse while we’re waiting.

If you’d like to read about the confluence of serendipity that led me to shoot the video, I’ve posted the personal side of the story in Botgirl’s Identity Circus.

Wow Botgirl! I’m with Yordie, this is such a wonderful piece. I know you were one of the first to use Blue Mars Mobile… since you published your first results it seems like Augmented Reality has really hit the radar big time!

Translation: it probably hit the radar big time a while ago… but Vaneeesa has finally noticed! 😛

As Yordie and many others already know, Botgirl, you’re really at the nexus of so much “reality” today. Thanks so much for sharing your insights here on iRez!

In that same spirit we’ve been doing some boring but I think valuable work restructuring this blog to address the Reality and Identity issues of our time. So we now have a “Master Category” heading of “Reality” and 4 sub-categories for Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, Virtual Reality and Gamification. You can find all 4 indices here:

We’ve also been reblogging some posts from VR / Activism / Public Art master John Craig Freeman:

And of course, you can find the full Botgirl here:

    That’s the good news!
And now the bad news… oh gawd… you’re really going to make me break down and buy an iPad… aren’t you… 😛

Or maybe Blue Mars Mobile runs on an android phone, I actually haven’t looked.

Anyway, wonderful video Botgirl, thank you so much!
